DPT-RP1 can now gain root access

Check this out: https://github.com/HappyZ/dpt-tools

This is for RP1. Since I don't have CP1, cannot confirm it works the same there.

Finally, greatly thank shankerzhiwu and his friend for the hard work!

  1. I think I am really slow. There is no process adb on MacOS, I installed 3 images via DPT Tools with no issues. But without adb KOreader installation seems not possible.
    ➜ dpt-tools-master adb
    ➜ zsh: command not found: adb
    Sorry for bothering you.
    Thank you.

  2. Having issue with rooting:
    ➜ dpt-tools-master python dpt-tools.py
    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "dpt-tools.py", line 8, in
    from python_api.libDPT import DPT
    File "/Users/dev/dpt-tools-master/python_api/libDPT.py", line 13, in
    from urllib.parse import quote_plus
    ImportError: No module named parse

    thank you

  3. I'm rooting my DPT-RP1, the instructions are not very clear. I'm rewriting them and making a video tutorial. Did you use a Mac with Mojave ? *no offense* I just want to create a set of idiot proof directions because I'm having so much trouble.

      1. I have sony dpt rp1 frimware v1.6.00.15110 and Windows 10.
        I do not know much English. I use google translate.
        Could you write a video instruction how to get root and install Android. Thank!

        1. First, I don't use windows.. and second I don't plan to do a video instruction.. sorry.. the entire process is pretty simple. I think Google Translate already provides enough info to you.

  5. Thank you for your work. I followed your wiki to root my dpt-cp1 and it's success. Then I install a android app, but i can't find it in my dpt-cp1. Could you help me find it?

  6. Thank you for your great work on DPT-RP1.

    I just wonder how to use push-file in diagnosis mode.

    Please let me(beginner) know how to use a situation below.

    I have a window 10 PC and connected by DPT-RP1 and new boot.img.bak is located in c:\dpt-tool-master folder.
    I 'd like to copy this file to my DPT-RP1.

    Thank you for reading .

    Regards zeuljA

    1. Hi there, I have not tried, but using windows is a bit tricky for push-file. You can use restore-bootimg and restore-systemimg instead, to transfer corresponding files. Just follow the instructions.
